Chicago Boudoir Photography – Top 12 Most Frequently Asked Questions

The thought of a Chicago boudoir session can be scary. When talking to women about their session, I get asked all kinds of questions. So I wanted to compile a list of my top 12 most frequently asked questions to give you some insight on preparing for a boudoir session with me!

 

 

Do I have to wear lingerie?

You definitely don’t have to specifically wear lingerie, it depends on your personality! There are a BUNCH of outfit ideas other than lacy little things! I love seeing what you come up with to bring, from a plain tee, your partners shirt or jersey, fun skirts, more masculine jackets and attire – the fun part is planning and I am here to help!

 

 

Do you have payment plans for your Chicago boudoir sessions?

I offer a few payment options! There is a booking retainer due at the time you book your session. If you want to pay off your session in advance you can pay in full or you can schedule it a few months out, and pay it off in payments! I also offer payment plans after your session up to six months! Let me know if there is something that you want to set up!

Is hair and makeup included?

Hair and makeup is included in all of our boudoir shoots! It think it’s really important for you to feel pampered, and having your hair and makeup done is a great way to do that! Our amazing stylists can help you complete your look, whether that’s “I just woke up like this” or full on Glam! You can bring any ideas you want for your makeup and we can try to use it for inspiration! You’ll also get some tips and tricks in the Session Prep Guide after booking!

 

Do you share my images from my Chicago boudoir session?

Our number 1 priority is making sure our clients are comfortable, especially with boudoir! It can be a life changing experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking! Sometimes, you are learning how to love your body and you aren’t quite ready to share the images with the world, or sometimes these photos are specifically for your partner and not for anyone else’s eyes. These are all great reasons for not sharing your photos, and it all depends on your personal preferences! If there are photos that I would like to share, I will ask your permission first, and only share what you are comfortable with!

 

Do you offer digitals?

All of our packages include some sort of print product, some include digitals! There is also an A La Carte list that you can choose from as well! On this list we have an option to add on digital images! These digital images come in a locked online gallery, for you to download and share!

What type of print products do you have?

We offer a variety of luxury albums and velvet boxes with prints in them! The velvet legacy box with the 5×7 matted prints are my favorite. I absolutely love the feel of picking up a physical print, it’s so surreal to see yourself like that! “20 glorious and glossy pages from the boudoir shoot that I flip through myself every chance I get. I’m freaking out! How can I calm my nerves about my Chicago boudoir session?

Nerves are all part of the experience! I always say that it would probably be weird if you WEREN’T nervous. The nervousness in the beginning of your shoot makes your moment of “WOW” seeing your photos for the first time so much better! Trust me, those nerves will melt away during the session and you will leave feeling like the Goddess you are!

Do you Photoshop my images?

Your images are edited for light, exposure and color balance. I do NOT however edit anything “out” that is permanent! I think it can be damaging to have a boudoir session done, and then edit out parts of yourself that make you who you are! Part of the process of accepting yourself and seeing your beauty also means not photoshopping out parts of yourself you don’t like. If there are parts of yourself that you are learning to love and aren’t thrilled about, that is okay! We are skilled in wardrobe guidance, posing and lighting to make you look your absolute best and brings out your shine!

 

How many outfits should I bring?

I ask my clients to bring 6 to 8 different looks but we shoot four. The reason I ask you to bring so many is because not everything shoots as well as it looks in person. While you’re in hair and makeup we will go through everything you brought!

Should I get to my session early?

You should always plan on getting to your shoot about 10 minutes early so we can talk and make a plan for hair and makeup!

Where is your Chicago boudoir studio located?

The studio location included in your session is located in Batavia, Illinois! High ceilings, tall windows, wood floors… This location gives off a classy and sexy vibe, perfect for everyone! I have additional studios you can upgrade to if you are looking for another style and look, we’ll chat about this when we plan your session!
